As much as I would love to sleep in, I can’t. See, two things wake me up. Every. Time. One is purpose. The other is my body clock. Purpose is what I have to accomplish. It’s not just a list or “some abstract hard to describe” thing. It’s my mission in life to complete. I wake up thinking about it. It consumes me. It’s beautiful. The body clock is the ingrained sleep cycle I couldn’t break if I wanted to. No matter how late I go to bed, around 6 AM or earlier, I rise. This is a good thing.

Every morning I wake up before my boys when the house is still quiet and plan my day (“Thanks body clock!”, she said appreciatively). Really and truly, I set the plan in stone because I have already made a plan. I find that making time for my goals, dreams, and “to do’s makes me a less hurried person and a happier one. Now, you can do what you please, but I find that alone time to pre-plan, pray, or plain old get it together is priceless. I suggest you find your time.

It rarely happens, but when I over sleep, (Aaaargh!!!!) I’m a mess. Truthfully, I’m a hollering, grouchy, hot mess! Lol! And I don’t like that Kaywanda very much. <—- That was humor in case you’re lost. But, back to the why of this post. Don’t you like being at peace, on time, and kind of in control of your day (cause we can’t control it all), etc.? I mean who doesn’t want to master the best use of their time? It’s a commodity we cannot multiply, increase, or buy. You have to use wisely the time you’ve been given.

Well, if you want to use your time wisely, rise early. It just helps you get in your zone. (No flex zone! This song is in my head now. They know better…Can you see me dancing?) So, I challenge you to pick a crazy early time and try it out. I bet you will like it and never go back. Now, you know your work schedule, needs, and what works for you better than me; but, I’m willing to bet that when you see how the other half (the calm early risers you hate to love) does it, you won’t go back to the dark side aka your old routine.

What say you? Are you in? Chime in and let me know how you roll? What do you see as benefits to rising early?

As always, this is a journey. Don’t be too hard on yourself if you just can’t cut it. And always, always, always..

Do It Anyway!
