Good Morning! It’s an early Saturday for me. I love getting up early when the house is quiet. I get so much done! If I can give one parenting tip, it would be “Rest often and Rise early”. You have to recharge your batteries to parent alone, run a home, run your career, and move your life forward. You also have to carve out time for you. The solitude and taking the time to rejuvenate should be your intention if you want to have as much balance as possible.

I’m up early pondering how I can get as many single moms as possible to want to change their lives right now, to want to move toward better, greater, more, and to see how they can do it. To go where you dream, you must set your intention. I want you to know that at the beginning of 2015, I wrote down my goals for the year on a dry erase board. Some people do vision boards with magazine clippings, artwork, post notes with their goals, write letters to their future selves, and the whole “sha-bang”. And then some do digital ones like what you find on Pinterest.  Now, wanting won’t give it to you. You must work for it. What’s your vision?

Whatever you want, you must first see in order to believe it can be so.

Below, I give you some possible areas to set your intentions for success:

At Home:

  1. Improved relationship with kids
  2. Clean space- more productivity, happier, pride, appreciation for what you have
  3. Family plan- you all get on one accord about what your family stands for and how you move through life supporting each other
  4. Order- you set the bar for how you run your house. You communicate this to your children and you hold the line when they do not.
  5. Success for children in school- carve out time to work on homework, set a family reading time, get a tutor if (like me) you cannot help them with their classes and they need help.

At Work

  1. Work Ethic: Do your best work
  2. Build Relationships: Help others
  3. Environment: Do not gossip or participate in a mess. Be a place of clarity, skill, resources, and dependable.
  4. Promotion: Stand out. Excel. Rise
  5. Your goals- Insert your very own here. Plan on it by making a plan for it

In Your Business

I’m a single mom coach, author, blogger, and speaker. So, being in business and being successful means I have to set goals. To accomplish anything begins with seeing- that’s setting your intention and shaping that intention works hand in hand with setting goals. Then, you move toward the goals- that’s taking action.

So, many of you have your own business and know what it is to build a business with excellence. Sometimes we get lax and think our business can be on autopilot, but that is not so. I have found that there are so many levels of running a successful business. Each level takes excellence. Plant on it! Set goals!

We can reach our goals as long as we are intentional about learning and growing.

Below, I share some things to help you get intentional about success in your business.

  1. Know your why for being in business- As you know who you serve and why, you will move closer to serving them with what they need.
  2. Goal Set for 4th Quarter and 1st Quarter of 2016 NOW (If you haven’t): What are the benchmarks for success? What do you need to do to make it successful? What is the game plan?
  3. How can you better serve the customers you have now
  4. How many MORE customers do you want to serve
  5. Set a marketing strategy
  6. Find your tribe and lean on them as well as serve them, so you can grow and serve your customers
  7. Implement!!!

In Life

How is your life going? Are you happy? Yes? Woo!!! Not so much? Let me be the one to tell you- Change that! You do not have to be worn out, overworked, unhappy, depressed, listless, purposeless, just getting by, or broken-hearted (although it happens). Get up!

Your life will change when you do.

  1. Assess your life.
  2. Get honest about what is and isn’t working.
  3. Get the help you need if you can’t fix it yourself.
  4. Be diligent and vigilant. Diligent about doing the work to get you to your best self. Vigilant about who you let go into this quarter with you. If they drain you, they can’t go. If they hurt you, they can’t go. And the most important, if they don’t support you and waste your time, THEY cannot go!
