My Thankfulness

Hey mama! I pray all is well in your world and you are rocking it out!!!  I know you’ve noticed I haven’t gotten my usual amount of posts, opinions, and diatribes as only I can put it … out into the universe. [Insert shameful face] When I started out blogging, I wrote to you almost every day. It was great! I got to share about my life, what I had learned (by fire and being in the trenches), how what I learned might help you. I still love to do that. But, as I have moved closer to what I feel is my calling in life, I’ve been super busy creating more than blog posts for you. And now, I want to express my thankfulness through this open letter I wrote for you!

I’ve been spending time writing two new books (part 2 to Do It Anyway and a devotional), coaching single moms, and promoting my first book “Do It Anyway!” This is an exciting and amazing time in my life (which is a combination of chasing my purpose and helping single moms like you navigate single parenting).

As an entrepreneur it has me working hard to create things that I believe you will appreciate, value, and use. I want to express my thankfulness to women and men like you. I’ve gotten so many comments like “that’s great and I enjoyed your talk, but what do I do now?” And it was comments like these that drove me to begin thinking about how I did it and how I could teach you to replicate something like it in your life. The journey began. And it has had its ups and downs. I am so thankful to each of you because I wouldn’t change a thang!

So!!!! Thank you for the love and support across all of my social media.  It is so … I can’t even express well my thankfulness in English … amazing to have people say something you’re doing is helping them.  THANK YOU!!!!

So today, I’m simply thankful. I remember when I started, I was scared. Lol! It took courage and a few “God are you sure” conversations for me to feel like sharing my struggles and to write them into the universe. I mean, I’m not perfect and neither are my boys. But, I am so glad I did. I’ve been blogging almost 3 years now and the women and men who’ve written in to tell me they appreciate it just warms my heart. THAT’s the little push we bloggers need when we feel like quitting. Yes, we feel like that. Yes, I’ve felt like that. But, I push through because this is bigger than me or you. Our kids need to see us thriving, moving in purpose and going for our dreams. Who could imagine that purpose could come from pain? Well, my dear, it does. I’m a living witness.

A Word of Encouragement

In retrospect, what I went through as a young single mom was rough. But honestly, it’s been so long since we’ve seen him (their dad), and I (long ago) forgave him (in my heart) that I can’t remember it as clearly as I did when the hurt was new. I share that because I know you come here for coaching, tips, resources, and encouragement. But, know that you one day will be happy, healthy, whole, and healed. Still, I know how much I hated him and his women. Honey, it was hell! But my life is no longer in that place. Praise God! One day, neither will you.

Who has time to spend energy on people who have released them? Not I. Not you.

I know how much it used to hurt when my boys never had their dad at school events, to show them how to do something, or simply to call upon to ask boy questions to their dad.

If that is where you are, sis just know you will heal. It’s not easy. I don’t promise that. I do promise that if you will let it, the worst time of your life will lead to the most amazing season of blessing. Go through it. Know that it’s not your fault and you are responsible for you and your babies. You are the best one for the job and that is why you are there.

So, thank you again for coming along on this journey with me. My thankfulness inspired me to keep giving you reasons to check the blog, show up in your life, and raise your babies into awesome adults who love their families and you.

To help you rise up and do it anyway, here is my 10 Day Purpose and Voice course FREE for you to say thanks for your support. It’s $97 usually.
