As I type this post, I’m reminded of an old saying: “Cleanliness is next to godliness.” So, how do we find time to make our lives in order?

Yeah, that’s nowhere in the Bible. But, it is a great visual to get us moving. I mean, who doesn’t want to be pleasing to God? But, let’s bring this home. How does having order affect you and me? Being organized mentally and spatially helps you do so much. Read on:

1. You can easily find stuff when things are in order.

Okay! Need I say more? Lol! There is nothing like looking for your favorite shoe to no avail. Yeah, I know. I moved like 9 months ago and one of my snake-skin hybrid leather loafers is missing. I learned to pack and move by myself. Of course, I learned to remove my boys from the whole process because, well, you get the gist. My stuff is missing. Lack of organization played a part. Next time. People will have certain tasks that do not involve my shoes.

2. You have peace of mind.

This one, I can’t explain. It’s like I’m in my perfect place mentally, physically, and spiritually when there is order. I can be creative because I’m not worried about the messy kitchen or the laundry. Do you know what I mean? Order in our work life. Yes! Who likes being employed? Yep! Gotta have it. So, to do that, you need a system. I’m a list person, so Post It notes are my friends. I also use my technology. Let’s face it, the old noggin just doesn’t remember it all and we need help. There are a gazillion apps out there, try one to see if it’s right for you. Nothing in order to keep you on track. You can really be a Rock star with the right systems in place.

3. People can visit you.

I’m from Louisiana. So, inbred deep within me is this shame of not having a clean house. I laugh at it, but it’s there. I can’t be cured. My boys wish there was such a blessed remedy. 🙂 Life’s more fun with friends. We need them on our journeys. Let’s welcome them into a clutter-free abode. (My boy’s room is usually not where folks go. I have no words to describe).  Just a “don’t go in there”. Lol! That’s all I got. This is about you, not the kids.

So, as you can see, you gotta get organized. I love Pinterest for this. I plan to list resources later, but for now, start surfing for ideas and pondering how you can make finding order fun.

Now for the life part! If you are overwhelmed, check your schedule, and start removing things. You cannot be your best if you are mentally tired and just overworked. Add disorganized to the pot and you’re a walking “hot mess”. I posted on this click here for more!

We all have days where we just can’t get it all done, but if you’ve had a year or decades, let’s get you organized. Order breeds clarity and creativity. Am I saying you won’t be successful? No. I know plenty of messy successful folks. But, what could they do if that wasn’t the case? Hmmm. Find your order mom and find your clarity!

Take away: Make a plan and put it in tiny steps. Finding order can be overwhelming if you do so all at once. Pick one thing and complete it, then the next, and so on. You got this! You’re an Overcomer!
